Clint Eastwood has announced the death of his long-time partner, Christina Sandera, who was 61 years old. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Eastwood, aged 94, expressed, “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.”
The couple had been together for almost ten years, making their first public appearance at the 2015 Academy Awards, where Eastwood’s film American Sniper was nominated for six Oscars.
They also attended red carpet events for his films The Mule and The 15:17 to Paris in 2018. Their relationship was initially reported by Us Weekly in 2014, which noted that Sandera was employed at Mission Ranch, Eastwood’s hotel located in Carmel, California.
Prior to his relationship with Sandera, Eastwood was married twice: first to Maggie Johnson from 1953 to 1984, and then to Dina Eastwood, from whom he finalized his divorce in late 2014 after 17 years of marriage.
A representative from Warner Bros informed The Hollywood Reporter that “no further information will be forthcoming” regarding Sandera’s death.
At the age of 94, Eastwood is reportedly in the process of completing Juror No. 2, which is anticipated to be his final film. Fans are hopeful that this will serve as a fitting conclusion to his illustrious career, leading to a well-deserved retirement.
Rest in peace, Christina Sandera. Our condolences go out to Clint Eastwood and her family
