During a recent interview, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was kicked off of a CNN interview with host Kasie Hunt for repeatedly calling out the network on its hostile narrative against President Donald Trump. Hunt repeatedly asked Leavitt to cease criticizing CNN, which she refused to do, prompting the host to end the interview.
Leavitt slammed the network for pushing the prevalent Democratic narrative that Trump is akin to a fascist dictator. “It’s takes about five minutes to Google Jake Tapper Donald Trump to see that Jake Tapper has consistently likened President Trump to Adolf Hitler.” Hunt interjected, “Ma’am. I’m going to stop this interview if you continue to attack my colleagues.”
“I would like to talk about Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who you work for,” Hunt added, trying to steer the discussion away from Leavitt’s criticism. However, Leavitt was unfazed by this request, continuing, “I am stating facts that your colleagues have stated in the past.” After this, Hunt wrapped up the interview, as Leavitt continued to speak over her, undeterred.
The clip went viral on social media, where CNN faced critical commentary from conservatives. “They should revoke CNN’s Whitehouse press pass for 6 months for this!” one person wrote. Another user pointed out, “Stating facts in a calm manner is apparently “attacking” her colleagues.” Praising Leavitt and calling out CNN on its apparent bias, another comment read, “Leavitt at the White House, CNN already starts feeling the heat of truth.”
Following Trump’s monumental victory in the 2024 election, CNN was given a reality check from its own conservative pundit Scott Jennings who pointed out that Trump’s victory should be a wake up call for the media. “This is a mandate to do what you said you were going to do, get the economy working again for regular working-class Americans, fix immigration, try to get crime under control, try to reduce the chaos in the world this. This is a mandate from the American people to do that,” Jennings said
He continued, “I think I’m interpreting the results tonight as the revenge of just a regular old working-class American, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to they’re not garbage, they’re not Nazis. They’re just regular people who get up and go to work every day and are trying to make a better life for their kids, and they feel like they have been told to shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.”
