In a video posted to X on February 12, 2025, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Tx) called out the Democratic Party for a massive money laundering scandal. He said the party has weaponized a massive unaccountable bureaucracy to accomplish its political aims. Gill explained that over $2.7 Billion has been improperly paid since 2003. He also used the opportunity to justify the Department of Government Efficiency.
Gill is a firebrand Republican who has made waves for his strong conservative values. He has recently made several statements supporting DOGE’s historic federal audits. He says that democrats are more focused on complaining about Elon Musk instead of recognizing the need for greater accountability. Gill has stressed that these cuts are vital to protecting the American taxpayer.
Brandon Gill has begun by attacking the democrats. “The Democrat Party has for decades systematically grown and weaponized the administrative state against the American people, and the American people have had enough of it. Right now we’re talking about $2.7 trillion dollars in improper payments since 2003. We’re uncovering what could be the biggest money laundering scandal in American history.”
He concluded his remarks by emphasizing how foolish mainstream coverage of this issue is. “They could care less. They’ve no concern about where this money went, to what entities, to what governments, to what people or groups. All they want to talk about is Elon Musk incessantly.” In earlier remarks, Gill lashed out at federal bureaucrats for the trillions in wasteful spending.
Rep. Gill asked if there was any attempt to hold federal employees accountable for their actions. “Right now, is there anything to hold these people accountable? Agencies are supposed to have an accountable official to oversee this… But what is the accountability structure? Are they fired? What is holding them accountable? Have you ever seen an agency head get fired, for instance, for mailing out billions of dollars in fraudulent checks?”
He also wondered if there was a way to get the wasted money back. “And once we mail these checks out, is there any way of clawing this money back and holding the fraudsters accountable? It seems to me that we’ve got an overextended bureaucratic administrative leviathan that is mailing out American taxpayer dollars fraudulently with virtually no accountability at all, bankrupting the American people with impunity.”
He concluded his remarks by stressing the importance of DOGE and their audits. He said, “And this is from a federal government that ostensibly works in the interests of American citizens, is instead wasting our taxpayer dollars on a scale that is difficult to fathom. I think this is precisely why we need Doge so badly to get this nonsense under control.” On social media, commentators rallied behind Gill.
